Channel 24 journalist Sadman Sakib won the BSPA Sports journalist of the Year 2021 award in a joyous ceremony held at a city hotel on Friday when the Bangladesh Sports Press Association awarded journalists in eight categories.

Sadman also won the first prizes in three categories—Best Exclusive Report, Best Series Reports, and Best Television Interview.

Bangla daily Kaler Kantho journalist Rehanur Islam won Best Interview in print media category.

Maasranga television reporter Fariha Afsana Kanta won the Best Feature for television category, while New Age photographer Sourav Lasker won the first prize in the Best Sports Photography category.  

Prothom Alo reporter Masud Alam won the first prize in the Best Feature for Newspaper/Online/Magazine category while his two colleagues, Bodiujjaman Milon and Rashedul Islam, won the second and third prizes respectively in the same category.

Arafat and Prothom Alo journalist Tarek Mahmud won the second and third prizes respectively in the Best Interview for Newspaper/online/magazine category.

Among others, Rehanur and dhakapost.com reporter Arafat Zubaear won the second and third prizes respectively in the Sports Journalist of the Year category.

The Business Post reporter Samiur Rahman and Rehanur won the second and third prizes in the Best Exclusive Report category respectively.

Arafat and Krira Jogot reporter Tofail Ahmed won the second and third prizes respectively in the best series reports category respectively.

ATN Bangla reporter SM Ashraful Islam and Channel 24 reporter AKM Faizul Islam won the second and third prizes respectively in the Best Feature for Television category.

Prothom Alo photographer Shamsul Hoque Tanku and Kaler Kantho's Mir Farid won the second and third prizes in the Best Sports Photography category.

Besides, former national badminton player Kamrun Nahar Dana, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited director Sarwar Hossain and journalist Md Mohiuddin Palash were honoured with the World Sports Journalists Day Awards.

The jury board panel of the awards comprised of six members – New Age joint news editor Azad Majumder, Channel 24 sports editor Dilu Khandaker, weekly Krira Jogot editor Dulal Mahmud, risingbd.com editor MM Kayser, Daily Kalbela sports-in-charge Hasan Ullah Khan Rana and ATN News head of input Shahidul Azam.
