PM Modi to attend UP's 3rd ground breaking ceremony

• A groundbreaking ceremony will be held in Uttar Pradesh on 3rd June. The ceremony will invite investments of more than Rs. 80,000 crores for various sectors including MSME, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Education, etc. The event will be attended by industrialists such as Gautam Adani, Anant Ambani, Sajjan Jindal, KM Birla, etc. The event will be held at Indira Gandhi Pratishtan in Gomti Nagar in Lucknow.

PM Shri schools to be set up for students

• Under the New Education Policy, the Centre is planning to set up 'PM Shri Schools' for preparing students for the future. The announcement was made by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Bihar Cabinet nods to Caste Census

• After an all-party meeting in Bihar, the Bihar cabinet has given a nod to conduct Caste Census in the state. The census will be conducted by the General Administration Department (GAD) and will be completed by February 2023. The census will be conducted with the help of state's contingency funds and a notification regarding the execution plan will be released soon.

Punjab to restore VIP security

• The Punjab government led by AAP has informed the high court that it will restore the security of 434 at-risk individuals by 7th June. This decision comes in after AAP government received flak for removing security of VIPs which resulted in Siddhu Moosewala's shooting.

• Defence Minister Rajanath Singh held bilateral talks with Israeli Defence Minister Benjamin Gantz. The talks resulted in a vision statement to be adopted by both countries focusing on regional security.

Hardik Patel to launch campaign to wean Congress party members 

• After joining the Bharatiya Janta Party, Hardik Pandya has announced that he will hold a campaign every ten days to persuade Congress party MLAs and workers to leave Congress and join BJP.

India to place its 1st and Asia's largest liquid-mirror telescope in Uttarakhand

• Asia's biggest and India's first liquid-mirror telescope, built by astronomers of India, Belgium, and Canada will be installed at the Devasthal Observatory Campus. The campus is a part of Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences in Nainital, Uttarakhand. The telescope will be installed at an altitude of 2,450 metres and will watch out for space debris, asteroids, etc.

• Queen Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee celebrations begin from 2nd June to 5th June. Yesterday, annual Trooping the Colour parade was organized. The weekend will see various events being held to honour her service to the UK and the commonwealth.

Connecticut become the first US state to allow Sikh norms

• Connecticut has become the first US state to enact a law that allows Sikh policemen to wear turbans. The law also allows people from other religions to wear a religious head cover according to their customs.

• Microsoft has launched the Surface Laptop Go 2, with additional features as compared to the first-generation laptop in the series. The laptop will be available for sale in the US from 7th June onwards. The price of the laptop starts from $599.
• Amazon is launching the Amazfit GTS 2 New Version in India, which will be available for sale from 11th June onwards. The smartwatch will be available to buy on Amazon for Rs. 11,999.
• Facebook Messenger to get a calls tab as a new design feature in the coming days.
• Realme GT Neo 3T to be launched on 7th June in Indonesia, expected to roll-out in India in the next few weeks.
